Electric Fireplaces

As the winter months continue to become colder and colder across the U.S., many people are looking for ways to stay warm without breaking the bank. Cranking up the heat is just not an option for some because they are living paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford a huge heating bill. Instead of bundling up with blankets, these people should seriously consider an electric fireplace.

Electric fireplaces are not just for decoration anymore, although they do add beauty to any home. Electric fireplaces can easily heat a family room or dining area, and since they run on electricity and not gas it would only cost about seven cents per hour. When summer rolls around and one does not want to use the heat they can simply turn on the flame for a mere three cents an hour.

For those who are concerned about the environment, an electric fireplace does not emit fumes or any excess carbon dioxide into the air. There is also no ash or waste as there is with a traditional fireplace. Many “green” homes are discovering the advantages of the electric fireplace.

Electric fireplaces also remove the need to clean out a chimney or remove any soot. They are very clean and efficient. Instead of lying in bed worrying if you put the fire out, all you would have to do is push a button on the remote and turn the unit off. Some models also have an automatic shut off option once the desired temperature for the room has been reached.

Now the wealthy are not the only ones to enjoy the function and beauty of a fireplace. And those who always wanted a fireplace but did not have the room are now able to make that dream come true. Modern electric fireplaces have very realistic flames and some even crackle like a roaring fire. They can be installed very easily using simple tools and some are available as corner units so they take up less space in the home. Some entertainment centers even install electric fireplaces on the bottom of the unit for an extra “wow” factor.

In conclusion, an electric fireplace is an excellent investment. Its convenience, functionality, and beauty will pay for themselves ten times over and can be enjoyed by all for many years.
